According to Nanjing Customs China , in the first two months of this year, the Wujiang area exported 860 million yuan worth of wires and cables, including Optical Cables, an increase of 69.3% year-on-year. With the current round of global development of artificial intelligence and the explosive growth in computing power demand, the export of related products from Jiangsu Province has witnessed a rapid increase this year.

In addition, the centralized procurement prices of optical cables by operators have significantly increased recently. Heilongjiang Telecom has released a tender announcement for the 2026 outdoor optical cable emergency procurement project. Among them, the unit price of the mainstream specification G.652D-24-core outdoor optical cable without tax is 3,737.43 yuan per skin length kilometer, corresponding to a single-core kilometer price of approximately 155.7 yuan.

According to media reports, the centralized procurement by operators has witnessed a series of failed bids and price hikes. The bid limits for some products have even skyrocketed by 100% within two months, further confirming the current tight supply situation in the industry.
